Another 80 questions for another Alternian troll, this one an Imperial greenblooded cullmaster.

1. Name: Merciful Defthand

2. Age: 23 sweeps, or about 50 years

3. Gender: Female

4. How tall is s/he?: 5'6"

5. Describe their eyes: Normal troll eyes with green irises

6. Sexuality: Pansexual.

7. Race/Species: Troll

8. Siblings?: None

9. Lover(s)?: Has an Awkward Internet Thing with bobbedNonsense

10. Any talents or abilities, even if these are included in your canon (i.e. they can fly, but they live with angels, so everyone can fly)?

11. Any talents and abilities that are unusual in their canon (i.e. a psychic human in real life)?

12. What's their religion/belief system?

13. Have you ever renamed, redesigned, or reworked this person? How?

14. Do they have an alternate form?

15. Are they based on a real person?

16. Or another character?

17. Do they go to school?
Nope. They're long out of training by now.

18. How often do they spend in front of a mirror?
Just enough to make sure she looks suitably professional, plus a minute of futily trying to squish her hair down to make her horns look larger.

19. If given a gun, what would they do?
Captchalogue it and wait and see if anyone wants it back. If not, she'll give it to someone who likes guns in exchange for good favor.

20. What do they like wearing?
Simple, practical attire. A button-up overshirt is as fancy as she likes to get. She does have a set of hairties that she likes, though. It was hard to find them in her exact shade of blood, so she keeps them in as good condition as she can.

21. Describe their hair:
Black, tied back into a set of puffy pigtails. Untied, her hair would go down to her shoulders.

22. Where does this character live?
Before Sgrub, she lived in a hiveship (think mothership), the Wave Stream. It was a large ship that could easily house tens of thousands of trolls as permanent residents, though certainly not the largest. The part of the ship she lived in was a quiet residential area near the engines, close enough that the ship's pilot was brought in with her when she entered Sgrub. At the time, it was in orbit around a post-colonization solar system.

23. Can they cook?
She can follow the instructions on the box and improvise a little but she's hardly the greatest cook in the world.

24. Would they enjoy a surprise party thrown for them?
She sure would!

25. Have they ever killed someone? Who? Why?
Well, she's a cullmaster. She's killed a very large number of people in the line of duty. She doesn't think of it like that though. To her, there's a very big difference between killing and culling. Other than that, she's killed three people: On Alternia, she killed a troll who broke into her hive. During training, she tried to poison a rival clumsy and accidentally used too much. And a few sweeps back she killed someone in self-defense when they tried to take revenge for the culling of their moirail.

26. Do they feel guilty about that killing/multiple killings?
The only one she feels really guilty about is the rival. She'd only meant to make them look bad. She occasionally gets little pangs of guilt if she culls someone who was just a victim of circumstance, but she's learned how to set that aside.

27. Any secrets?
She was a real fanbrat in her youth. She wrote the most atrocious fanfiction, thinking it was ~deep and meaningful~ and she cringes when she remembers it. She also took part in a few vicious shipping wars that even extended to real life interactions (the housebreaker above? She'd been feuding with him for the past few perigees about fandom issues).

She once shuffled papers around to keep a colleague's matesprit (accused of associating with rebels) off the culling list. Neither the colleague nor the matesprit ever realized it.

28. Do they have a tattoo? Do they want one?
On her shoulder she used to have a tattoo of the symbol of a fandom group she was in. The group fell apart due to infighting and she had it removed shortly before conscription. She occasionally gets the urge to get another one, but that goes away the moment she looks at the scars from the removal of her old one.

29. What about piercings?
She has pierced ears.

30. Medical conditions?

31. Are they generally violent?

32. Are they shy or outgoing?
She prefers to associate with just her colleagues, but won't say no to being introduced to other people.

33. Honest or deceitful?
Mostly honest, but is willing to use tactful half-truths if she has to.

34. Optimistic or Pessimistic?
Neither, unless people's motivations come into play. Then she's all cynic.

35. Loving or distant?
She's loving to her colleagues, but distant to everyone else.

36. Young or old?
In the middle.

37. Bad or good?

38. Are they good at winning an argument?
It varies. The less passionate she is, the better she is at actually winning.

39. Name something unusual about them:
She's a loyalist Alternian cullmaster and yet hasn't yet been chased from the equalist IRC.

40. Are they a virgin?

41. Have they ever had sex with their own gender?

42. Name some prejudices s/he has:
She's casteist. She knows better than to say this out loud on the chat, but frankly? She's had twenty sweeps of indoctrination in the hemocaste system. It's not going to just go away.

43. Give me something random about them:
She's very fond of bothering by the book.

44. Do they drink?
She doesn't mind a glass of wine now and then.

45. Smoke?

46. Do drugs?

47. Are they addicted to anything?

48. What's their impression on people at first glance?
They're just people. There's nothing special about them.

49. Is this true once they're more well known to someone?
Now you're someone to take notice of.

50. Name something that's different about them now than when you first came up with them:
She's apparently a xenophile now?

51. Is there anything about this character that's surprising to you?
Nothing major.

52. How was their childhood?
She had a perfectly normal Alternian childhood with her goose lusus. Got in the occasional spat with a neighbor, got in more common spats with people on the internet, started working towards her chosen career pre-recruitment in an attempt to stand out. The only major thing was that shipping war that went too far and ended with a dead housebreaker.

53. What's one of their weaknesses?
Sometimes she's a little too snarky for her own good. It's gotten her in trouble with her superiors before.

54. Their greatest strength?
Tenacity. She will dig in her heels but good if she thinks she's being jerked around.

55. Something they hate:
Unauthorized culling.

56. Something they love:

57. How's their self esteem?
Pretty good.

58. One thing they hate about themselves:
That godawful fanfic phase of hers, and that she can't spin a good metaphor to save her life. Not that she doesn't still try.

59. One thing they love about themselves:
That she hasn't once flubbed a cull. Botched culls are pretty nasty, messy things.

60. How's their ego?

61. Describe their past:
Merciful Defthand had a perfectly normal life on Alternia as Raline Harken. She had a small group of cohorts that she got along well enough with, and tended to avoid anyone outside of her little circle. At least in real life. On the internet she was a wild thing that got in a truly ridiculous amount of arguments and flame wars over in consequential stuff.

She was conscripted at the usual time and started off in the medic career path. However, she was nudged in the direction of culling instead of treating. She didn't like that very much but what could she do about it? She took on the name Defthand after her training was completed, and then spent a few sweeps in relatively minor posts. This included a stint on a conscription transport that she loathed because it was crowded and she was being pressured into culling extra conscripts in order to free up some space.

She spent quite some time gradually working her way up the chain of command and moving to more prestigious stations. Along the way she started calling herself Merciful Defthand, justifying it that she was bringing mercy to the sick, the crippled, and the rebellious. Eventually she was appointed cullmaster of the Wave Stream, which being a mostly administrative postion meant she was hardly working hands-on at all anymore. She would still step in to assist a trainee occasionally, though.

She recieved Sgrub as part of a randomly selected beta-testing group that was supposed to be restricted to higher-end members of the Empire. Instead, one of her coplayers (a veteran who knew how everything was supposed to go) arranged things so he and a helmswoman recieved them instead of the other two who were "intended" to play.

62. How was their family life?
She and her quadrants got along well enough.

63. Are they happy now? Why?
She would be a lot happier without the world-destroying game.

64. Do you like them?

65. Would you get along with them if you met them in real life?
I would be pretty skeeved out, with the whole culling thing.

66. Would they like you?
She wouldn't care.

67. Are they smart?

68. Are they tricky?
She can weasel, but that's it.

69. Do you know how they are going to die?

70. Do you plan on killing them off?
Not in particular.

71. Do they like to read?
She sure does. She especially likes poetry. She'll also make an attempt at writing from time to time.

72. What's their favorite… book?
Some romance novel. Eh, let's say it's Cold Blood, Burning Passion.

73. Movie?

74. Person?
BobbedNonsense, Sally.

75. Time of day?

76. Animal?
Birds, especially geese.

77. Thing to do?
Sit down with a cup of coffee and spend some quality time reading or writing.

78. Are you tired of this meme yet? xD

79. Has it helped you?

80. Will you do it for another character?
I might.

81. Go tag someone. And go tell xxcrashgirlxx on deviantART that you used it!
